We work with governments, corporations, nonprofit organizations, and Tribes across the United States and internationally to create forward-thinking strategies for resource conservation, climate resilience, low impact development, and waste reduction.
Cascadia brings its expertise and creativity to all aspects of sustainability programs, from research and strategic planning to analysis, program implementation, outreach, and evaluation.
For decades, our clients have trusted us to drive environmental results. See what we can do for you ».
Cascadia’s roots are in a pizza parlor in downtown Seattle, where Charlie Scott and Marc Daudon met over a slice. It wasn’t long before the two decided to build something new together, forming Cascadia Consulting Group in March 1993.
Throughout the 1990s, Cascadia created successful waste reduction and recycling policies and programs across the West Coast while building trusted relationships with clients. Starting in 2000, Cascadia broadened its core service offerings to include sustainability planning, natural resource management, and climate resilience strategies.
In late 2015, Marc and Charlie transferred majority ownership of the company to long-standing senior management, ushering in a second generation of leadership by Ruth Bell (Co-President), Amity Lumper (Co-President), and Francis Icasiano (Managing Principal). Under this new ownership, Cascadia is now 51% women-owned and 70% women- and minority-owned. The three owner-managers have been with the company for more than a decade and have served on the Executive Management Team since 2014; they collectively oversee strategies related to our mission and vision, business development, and long-term growth.
The Cascadia Way is a culture of quality, respect, responsibility, creativity, and fun that imbues everything we do.
We have high expectations of ourselves as we strive to deliver innovative, sustainable solutions that make a positive impact.
We’ve assembled a team of talented, enthusiastic professionals who see their work as more than just a job.
Our dedication to work-life balance includes flexible schedules, generous vacation policies, and sabbaticals.
We also liven things up with outdoor events, ping-pong tournaments, impromptu happy hours, and our annual CascadiaFest holiday party.
Our talented and dedicated staff are the heart, soul, and muscle of Cascadia; they’re behind the exceptional service and quality we’re known for. We are highly motivated self-starters with energy, creativity, and a sense of humor—and, most importantly, we are committed to walking the talk, advancing sustainability, and improving our communities both as a company and as individuals.
We know our mission to solve today’s environmental challenges and advance a sustainable future is best served when our team reflects the vibrant communities in which we live and work. Our goal is to continue building a company that fits that vision. As a result, Cascadia is currently engaging in staff cultural competency training and growth in order to create a work environment that is welcoming and inclusive of true diversity.
