Cascadia continues to connect our 16 years of waste characterization experience to successful program implementation in California.

July 31, 2009 - In the last three months, Cascadia’s business outreach team successfully signed up over 300 businesses in the City of Hayward for recycling services. We are also conducting pre- and post-studies of the City’s commercial waste to quantitatively demonstrate program success.

The Hayward project is one of many examples of Cascadia’s innovative services in California. Other current examples include:
• Building a model for the City of Los Angeles to forecast the impacts of specific waste management programs and policies.
• Creating a calculator with the CA Waste Management Board for businesses across the state to measure the financial, diversion, and greenhouse gas impacts of a range of programs.
• Engaging stakeholders and developing operational protocols for the South Bayside Waste Management Authority to implement mandatory commercial recycling.
• Providing audit services to businesses in the cities of Palo Alto and Santa Clara to achieve green business certification status in conjunction with our partner firm, Environmental Planning Consultants.
