Cascadia News
Since June, Cascadia has helped develop seven successful grant applications for Recovery Act Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) funds. As a result, over $2.6 million has been awarded to seven Puget Sound cities to help advance energy efficiency, clean mobility, and renewable energy strategies in their communities.
Cascadia worked with the cities of Bellevue, Redmond, Renton, and Sammamish this spring to develop grant applications and strategies for formula EECBG funds from the Department of Energy.
This fall, Cascadia assisted the cities of Bremerton, Mercer Island, and Mill Creek with competitive EECBG applications administered through the Washington State Department of Commerce. Only about half of competitive EECBG applicants were selected for grant funding.
These EECBG funds will result in several municipal building retrofits, home energy reporting systems, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and much more.
