Matt Abbott provides in-the-field research support for a broad range of projects. He excels in data collection, management, and utilization, and has experience with non-invasive research techniques. Most of Matt’s work has been in California, participating primarily in waste characterization and diversion studies. In addition to waste stream analysis, Matt has been applying cost and carbon measurements to select projects, providing valuable metrics to increasingly complex systems. Matt brings extensive field experience from previous work in migratory bird abatement as well as large carnivore research with the Borderland Jaguar Detection Project and has worked in a variety of laboratory settings including academic, research, and pharmaceutical labs. He is also a BPI certified analyst serving as Cascadia’s Weatherization and Residential Energy technical expert, currently assisting on the Seattle City Light Powerful Neighborhoods program. Matt holds a BA in Biology from The Colorado College, and is currently enrolled in Bainbridge Graduate Institute’s MBA in Sustainable Business program.
