Client: Snohomish County, WA

Cascadia Consulting Group is recruiting designated businesses in select areas of Snohomish County to participate in a food scrap recycling program with the intent of decreasing the amount of compostable material entering the county’s waste stream. The focus is on large generators such as chain grocery stores and the Snohomish County Corrections Facility. Once recruited, Cascadia will ensure that participating businesses have the resources, information, and training not only to implement a program but also to make it successful. The final deliverable for the project is a report containing data on the list of businesses that have signed up, associated cubic yards or tons of food waste diverted, and anecdotal information (“lessons learned”) that may be useful in conducting commercial outreach in the future.
