Green Home Remodel Survey
Client: Seattle Public Utilities (WA)
Seattle Public Utilities launched the Green Home Remodel initiative to educate residents about materials and strategies to remodel homes in ways that are healthy, economical, and environmentally beneficial. SPU hired Cascadia to develop a marketing plan for the initiative with a particular focus on how to reach likely remodelers and deliver a series of booklets SPU had developed. Cascadia completed a thorough market analysis and housing stock assessment to identify the target market and neighborhoods that are likely hot-spots for current or future remodeling activity. Based on this information, Cascadia developed and analyzed several marketing and outreach options and assembled a recommended strategy with a timeline, specific action steps, and cost estimates. Cascadia also estimated the possible waste and pollution prevention opportunities of the “green” practices described in the guides. In 2006, Cascadia conducted a follow-up evaluation of the project using postcard surveys mailed to participating residents.

Thanks for all your hard work on helping HomeStreet with our "first ever" carbon footprint study--and for an excellent presentation. I feel I've gone from interested citizen to being somewhat knowledgeable about the subject thanks to all I've learned from you and the process. I look forward to determining where HomeStreet goes from here in tackling the tough environmental choices we all face. Thanks again for a great job!
