Greenhouse Gas Footprint Calculator
Client: Washington State Department of Ecology
The Department of Ecology asked Cascadia Consulting Group to adapt its Carbon Footprint Calculator for government use. Cascadia worked with Spencer Reeder, Ecology’s lead policy strategist on climate change, to develop and pilot a new calculator for use by the Department of Ecology and the Department of Community, Trade, and Economic Development. The initial pilot was a success, and in 2008, the effort will likely be expanded to all state agencies.

In 2006 we had some last minute budget surplus grant opportunities foisted upon us that had just a few weeks to be drawn up, prioritized and submitted. Thanks to the cat-herding abilities of Cascadia’s able staff, we were able to get rapidly reach a consensus on projects, submit them and ultimately get two important projects funded. I highly doubt we would have been able to respond in time without Cascadia's assistance.
