Climate Change Policy Initiatives
Client: Seattle City Council (WA)
Cascadia is charged with assembling a legislative agenda to guide the Seattle City Council in addressing climate change. Cascadia will research and identify legislative initiatives and bold new approaches to help the city meet its ambitious goal of reducing emissions 2% per year and 80% by 2050. In addition to reducing emissions, the project’s goals include the development of fresh legislative policies for adapting to the anticipated effects of climate change. To meet these goals, Cascadia is leading a team that includes Climate Solutions, Sightline Institute, and ICLEI—Local Governments for Sustainability.

Cascadia did a super job customizing the carbon footprint tool for our region and training us on it so that we could also be experts on the product. Working with the Cascadia staff was a pleasure.
