Action Plan for a Sustainable Washington
Client: Sustainable Washington Advisory Panel
In 2002, Governor Gary Locke created the Sustainable Washington Advisory Panel and charged it with developing an action plan to create a sustainable future for Washington State.  Cascadia guided the work of this panel, facilitating all panel meetings, developing background materials, and handling all panel logistics.  The findings and recommendations were used to publish eight essential outcomes for the year 2030 and 11 priority actions to move Washington toward a sustainable future.  With continued support from Cascadia in 2003 and 2004, the panel worked to raise awareness of its recommendations and to promote action around the state, including four major public forums in Spokane, Bellingham, Olympia, and Seattle.  Cascadia worked closely with panel leadership to produce a progress report on the group's 11 recommendations.
