Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Application Assistance, Project Management, and Regional Coordination
Client: Bellevue, Redmond, Renton, and Sammamish, WA
Cascadia Consulting Group is assisting several cities in the C-7 New Energy Partnership (Bellevue, Issaquah, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Redmond, Renton, and Sammamish) to apply for energy efficiency grants offered by the U.S. Department of Energy. Our work involves developing and submitting grant applications which meet federal guidelines, developing concise and relevant energy efficiency and conservation strategies as part of the grant application, and managing all aspects of the application process. We are also assisting with the C-7’s regional energy efficiency efforts. Collectively, the C-7 group is positioned to receive over $2.3 million in formula grant funding made possible by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

Cascadia’s GHG footprint calculator has been a cornerstone of our work with businesses. The SCP has been told that we have one of the best tools in the country for business use, due to its transparency (all sources and calculations are cited), flexibility (pre-loaded information is available if businesses don’t have access to specific data), and ease-of-use (it’s good even for beginners—there’s a checklist for “data needed” and tips on where to find it).
