Residential Energy Efficiency Direct Install Program
Client: Seattle City Light
Cascadia is managing all community engagement aspects of Seattle City Light's (SCL) Direct Install Program. The program goal is to install CFLs, efficient showerheads and faucet aerators in 20,000 hard-to-reach, ethnically diverse homes in the SCL service area, as well as educate residents about energy conservation and obtain baseline information about current practices and conservation potential. Cascadia is developing a request for proposal to engage local community groups to become project partners, thereby leveraging their abilities to effectively reach their communities to deliver meaningful and valuable services. Cascadia's role also includes managing these multiple partner organizations as they deliver service to residents in their communities; providing a customizing training to ensure that direct installers are adequately prepared to deliver quality services in a professional manner consistent with SCL objectives; and supporting overall program marketing, as well as field data collection and reporting.

Cascadia’s GHG footprint calculator has been a cornerstone of our work with businesses. The SCP has been told that we have one of the best tools in the country for business use, due to its transparency (all sources and calculations are cited), flexibility (pre-loaded information is available if businesses don’t have access to specific data), and ease-of-use (it’s good even for beginners—there’s a checklist for “data needed” and tips on where to find it).
