Climate Change and Sustainability Strategy
Client: Bothell, WA
Cascadia created a strategy for this Pacific Northwest city to meet their carbon reduction and energy independence goals. Work included: an assessment of current practices aimed at reducing emissions, providing assistance in measuring the Bothell greenhouse gas inventory using the ICLEI GHG inventory tool, identifying key opportunities to tackle sustainability and carbon reduction goals, and quantifying carbon and cost savings from several key recommended actions. As a result of Cascadia’s assistance, the Bothell City Manager, City Council and Green Team will be able to prioritize actions to meet their targets and share their success with the public.

Cascadia’s GHG footprint calculator has been a cornerstone of our work with businesses. The SCP has been told that we have one of the best tools in the country for business use, due to its transparency (all sources and calculations are cited), flexibility (pre-loaded information is available if businesses don’t have access to specific data), and ease-of-use (it’s good even for beginners—there’s a checklist for “data needed” and tips on where to find it).
