Greenhouse Gas Inventory
Client: California Coastal Conservancy
The California Coastal Conservancy acquired Cascadia’s services to assist in conducting a greenhouse gas inventory for 2007 operations and reporting these emissions to the State of California through the California Climate Action Registry.  Cascadia used the Climate Action Registry’s General Reporting Protocol, and assisted the Coastal Conservancy throughout the verification process.  In addition, Cascadia provided the Coastal Conservancy with a detailed feasibility/scoping analysis of performing a more comprehensive greenhouse gas audit of the Conservancy's Oakland office and all satellite offices in San Diego, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, and Fort Bragg, California.  This information allows the Coastal Conservancy to plan for more aggressive measurement, tracking and reduction of their entire carbon footprint.

Cascadia’s GHG footprint calculator has been a cornerstone of our work with businesses. The SCP has been told that we have one of the best tools in the country for business use, due to its transparency (all sources and calculations are cited), flexibility (pre-loaded information is available if businesses don’t have access to specific data), and ease-of-use (it’s good even for beginners—there’s a checklist for “data needed” and tips on where to find it).
