Citywide Energy Plan
Client: Bremerton, WA
Cascadia conduced a citywide energy inventory for the City of Bremerton by performing on-site facility audits, conducting interviews with key department staff and analyzing historical energy-use data.  The results of this inventory, coupled with best management practices research, will be incorporated into a strategic energy plan for the City of Bremerton.  This plan will primarily focus on identifying low-cost, energy-saving actions the city should take in the near-term, although the plan will also include several long-term, more capital-intensive actions to consider.  Bremerton city leaders sought Cascadia’s expertise because of the dual challenges they face in meeting the goals of the U.S. Mayors Climate Protection Agreement and their need to reduce energy costs at a time when economic uncertainties have taken center stage.

Cascadia’s GHG footprint calculator has been a cornerstone of our work with businesses. The SCP has been told that we have one of the best tools in the country for business use, due to its transparency (all sources and calculations are cited), flexibility (pre-loaded information is available if businesses don’t have access to specific data), and ease-of-use (it’s good even for beginners—there’s a checklist for “data needed” and tips on where to find it).
