Client: Seattle Public Utilities and the Saving Water Partnership

Cascadia developed a water footprint calculator to estimate a facility’s total baseline water consumption by type of use. The Excel-based tool breaks down a building’s overall water use into its individual use components and the associated water and sewer costs. Inputs to the tool include occupant and fixture counts, run cycles and water usage for appliances, and run time for irrigation and cooling systems. Results are represented graphically and are accompanied by recommendations, rebate information, and estimates of water and dollar savings. These results allow a facility operator to prioritize water conservation actions and, therefore, resource conservation dollars.
