Sustainability Strategy
Client: Pierce County, WA
Cascadia led a consultant team to help the Pierce County Executive’s Office develop a strategy to guide efforts to sustain and enhance Pierce County social, environmental, and economic assets for both present and future generations. Specific tasks include conducting a visioning session with an interdepartmental team of County staff; administering a sustainability assessment of departments, policies and regulations; recommending new policies, practices, regulations, and actions that the County can take to advance its sustainability goals; developing sustainability metrics and a system for tracking progress over time; and devising an implementation plan which identifies priorities and capacity needs.  The sustainability strategy will help unify County departments, inspire the community, resonate with County officials, and build a clear path toward a more sustainable Pierce County.

I was very pleased with the experience we had recently working with Cascadia to develop our carbon inventory and finalize our sustainable action guide. It’s a very daunting task to begin the process of changing the way we do business and measure our success so to have the combination of expertise and patience that you brought to the effort really made it enjoyable. I look forward to continuing to work with Cascadia as BNBuilders moves farther and farther along in this process.
