Residential Green Building Program
Client: King County, WA

Cascadia was responsible for education efforts and orchestrated all aspects of the education program for the 2005 Built Green Conference sponsored by the King County Solid Waste Division and the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties. The one-day conference highlighted green building efforts, new initiatives, and policy changes such as King County’s Critical Areas Ordinance for contractors, architects, and others involved in the industry. In addition to conference planning, Cascadia drafted a case study on the feasibility of solar power for residences in Western Washington as well as collaborated with county staff to promote county initiatives via advertisements in local and trade publications.

I was very pleased with the experience we had recently working with Cascadia to develop our carbon inventory and finalize our sustainable action guide. It’s a very daunting task to begin the process of changing the way we do business and measure our success so to have the combination of expertise and patience that you brought to the effort really made it enjoyable. I look forward to continuing to work with Cascadia as BNBuilders moves farther and farther along in this process.
