IPM Workshops and Assistance
Client: Snohomish County, City of Bellevue, and Oak Harbor School District
Cascadia has organized several IPM trainings and assistance for grounds keepers and maintenance personnel in public agencies and school districts. For Snohomish County and Bellevue, we developed and conducted a survey of grounds keepers to assess current practices in turf, lawn care, compost and organics, pest and disease, water use, and landscaping management. We also provided technical assistance and a daylong training for Snohomish County grounds keepers from ten school districts, two colleges, five municipalities, and two County departments. We worked with the Bellevue school district to update their annual maintenance plan that now includes IPM practices and monitoring, and conducted a workshop with all district grounds staff. We assessed Oak Harbor School District’s grounds management program to determine how well current practices meet the district’s IPM Policy, and provided specific recommendations on how to transition to a more integrated maintenance program.

Cascadia writes plans that we use, that don’t sit idly on a shelf. Their staff has a clear understanding of the material, can communicate it effectively and knows the right questions to ask. They are fast, efficient and on budget and stick to their tasks. If we had to pick our consultant all over again, it would be Cascadia.
