Accessible Mt. Baker

Location: Washington

Cascadia is currently working with the Seattle Department of Transportation to develop and implement an inclusive outreach and engagement program in Mount Baker, a diverse neighborhood in the city’s Rainier Valley. One of the project’s priorities is to reach and engage underserved groups in the neighborhood, including African-Americans and immigrant communities from South Asia, China, East Africa, and Latin America. Our team informs residents of the area’s Integrated Multimodal Plan, provides open communication channels for residents to provide feedback and ask questions, and maintains a consistent, positive presence in the community. We also manage the creation of outreach materials and strategies—adapting them to ensure the messaging resonates with each target group—and conduct the on-the-ground campaign in collaboration with a local partner.

Cascadia has really good people who are genuinely engaged in a project. It’s not just about doing a job for them—they’re genuinely passionate and care about environmental issues. I can count on them and they make it easy to do so.
