The South Central Action Area Group (SCAAG) is one of nine Local Integrating Organizations across Puget Sound charged with locally implementing regional conservation and restoration initiatives. The organization brings together local government, Tribes, nonprofits, businesses, and interest groups to coordinate pollution reduction and habitat protection and restoration efforts across the Seattle-Tacoma metropolitan area. Cascadia manages the complete life cycle of SCAAG projects, from facilitation and organization to implementation and performance monitoring. We serve as a liaison for stakeholders, identify funding opportunities for local projects, and ensure that meetings are constructive, efficient, and fair; we also help the group coordinate the implementation of its Action Agenda, track the progress and performance of local actions, and prepare public-facing documents and materials. Cascadia is currently working with SCAAG to update its five-year Ecosystem Recovery Plan and two-year Implementation Plan, including prioritizing and sequencing local actions to be undertaken in 2016.
