Background

Ruth is Cascadia’s co-President and the Director of the Climate & Natural Resource Management line of business. She brings more than 25 years of experience designing and implementing energy and resource efficiency, waste reduction, pollution prevention, and water conservation programs that deliver measurable environmental results for clients and their communities. An expert in engagement, outreach, facilitation, and public involvement, Ruth has employed a variety of strategies to achieve behavior change among businesses and residents including focus groups, door-to-door canvassing, resource savings calculators, recognition, target and social marketing, and traditional marketing. Ruth’s project experience includes facilitating Puget Sound Partnership’s South Central Action Agenda Local Integrating Organization, designing and implementing the pilot of Seattle’s Community Power Works residential energy efficiency program, managing the residential rebate energy efficiency program for Jefferson Public Utility District, overseeing the Seattle Public Utilities Green Business Program, managing Seattle City Light's Lighting Design Lab business and operations plan, and overseeing Sound Transit's renewable energy strategy. Ruth holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Biology from Macalester College.
