Policy and Planning
States and municipalities across the country are beginning to realize that by planning for change now, they can avoid significant costs down the road. The next several decades will likely see significant changes in resource use and management. Climate change alone promises changing patterns of water availability, stormwater runoff, agricultural production, transportation and community livability.
Cascadia offers full process planning services for state and local governments seeking to build a sustainable future today. We help you clarify your goals, assess your current practices and policies, target and prioritize opportunities for improvement, assess implementation feasibility, and develop ongoing reporting systems so that you can track progress over the life of the plan.
Our work takes all sustainability factors into account, including waste management, climate change, and water management, and applies our stakeholder engagement experience to ensure a thorough approach. The result is a durable, comprehensive, and adaptable plan that can be used to inform management and policy decisions for decades to come.

In 2006 we had some last minute budget surplus grant opportunities foisted upon us that had just a few weeks to be drawn up, prioritized and submitted. Thanks to the cat-herding abilities of Cascadia’s able staff, we were able to get rapidly reach a consensus on projects, submit them and ultimately get two important projects funded. I highly doubt we would have been able to respond in time without Cascadia's assistance.
